Beautiful Victoria is the capital of British Columbia, the most western Canadian Province. Located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria has the mildest climate in Canada. Victoria boasts historic buildings, the lively harbour and downtown areas, and beautiful ocean and mountain vistas. As an international tourist destination, Victoria is home to a wide variety of hotels, restaurants and shops. Things to see include the Royal BC Museum, Chinatown, Parliament building, Empress Hotel, Beacon Hill Park, and Butchart Gardens. Whale watching tours are available at the harbour.

Continuously ranked among the best universities in Canada, and the world, UVic offers world-class education and research. The garden-like campus is easy to reach by bus from anywhere in Victoria. For those not wishing to stay downtown, conference accommodation will be available in student housing (single rooms) -> Accommodation; It is also very convenient for the participants to go and eat food on campus.
